My Why

I have always beat to my own drum and had my own sense of style. My mother would often chuckle at the looks I put together, as you can see above, lol..
Fast forward, I went to a pretty conservative business school and all that "extraness" had to tone down. I struggled to fit in for most of my adult life, in many ways actually.
It took me about ummm, 43 years to realize that I no longer was going to dim my light to conform to the society's standards. "If you cannot take my shine, bring shades," is what I had to say to help my self esteem the last couple of years to find my voice (which I am still doing.)
In this journey, I started feeling comfortable being true to who Niela really was- not what people have told me to be over the years- so I adopted my personal style to fit that.
I would go to boutique, consignment stores and Etsy looking for rare and unique fashion finds and sometimes not see what I had visioned in my head.
So this is how this started:
a) I HATE doing my hair!!
b) I love my city and
c) I love a fly baseball cap.
I would spends hours on the internet looking for girly Sox and Bulls caps. All I saw was NY and they were pretty basic if you ask me.
I already had bought crafts and started making headbands during Covid (for fun), I romanticized with the idea of decorating hats instead-but life happened: My mother died, her condo got repossessed, we started a family business, we moved- twice, and the whole time I was severely depressed. Oh, and my grandmother had a stroke and had to move in.
Whew. But. God. and to him be the glory. Please be patient- I am a one woman show, but I hope you will join me on my quest to live life not by everyone else's standards, but CUSTOM.
Thank you for visiting!
Love, Niela
